Page cannot be displayed when using your USB modem.

Check if the software you used to connect to the internet is showing as connected.

 

Keep your temp internet files in check. Delete it from time to time. 

Delete Temp Internet Files on IE 6

Click “Tools” and select “Internet Options” under the general tab select “Delete Files” on the popup you could also tick the box “delete all offline files” and click “Ok”.

Delete Temp Internet Files on IE 7

Click “Tools” and select “Internet Options” under the general tab click the “Delete” button. You will see list of categories to delete like temp internet files, cookies, history, passwords, delete all etc. delete the temp files or each of the categories or select delete all.( delete all will delete all of the above categories)

Delete Temp Internet Files on Firefox

Click on tools and select “Clear Private Data”

Delete Temp Files on Safari

Click on safari menu and click “Empty Cache” and when the dialog box opens click “Empty”

 

Always restart the computer after deleting the temp files on your computer.

 

If this dose not fix the issue check the browser settings. On windows OS in IE 6 or IE 7 check the box which says “automatically detect settings”. This can be found in Tools / Internet Options / Connection tab / LAN settings. If not reset the browser (resetting the browser will delete all the temp internet files including history and passwords and also all the add-on and user settings). Click Tools / Internet Options / Advance tab and click “Restore Default” on IE 6 or “Reset Browser” on IE 7.

 

 

Try disabling the firewall of your antivirus (leaving the firewall disabled can leave your computer open to viruses and hackers and other various treats) if you find that by disabling your firewall of your antivirus fixes the issue, turn on the firewall and contact your antivirus support for help.

Try to ping a website. To ping click start and go to all programs, select accessories and open command prompt. (On Vista you may have to right click on command prompt and click on “run as” and select “administrator”). If you do not know the IP address of the site type the web address. E.G.  Type “ping www.google.com” (do not include the inverted comas) you will get a result as “packets send = 4, received = 4, loss = 0, (0% loss)” if this is the result your internet connection is ok but if the received is showing as 0 and the loss is showing as 4 then you need to contact you internet service provider and check if they have any network issues. You could also try to disable the antivirus. (Refer to the above step).

 

You could also try flushing the DNS. To do this you needs to open the command prompt click start and go to all programs, select accessories and open command prompt. (On Vista you may have to right click on command prompt and click on “run as” and select “administrator”) and type “ipconfig/flushdns” and hit enter. (Do not include the inverted comas) the result should be “Successfully Flushed the DNS Resolver Cache”. Restart the computer and connect to the internet again and try accessing webpage’s.

 

If none of this worked for you, contact your internet service provider for further help with your USB modem or your wireless USB modem.
